After breakfast, today’s family tour takes us off the beaten path. We start by visiting the salt mines of Maras that once allowed locals to trade their harvest for products from other regions of the Empire. Nearby is the archaeological site Moray, which is actually just an hour and a half from Cusco city, yet feels worlds away due to the concentric terraced platforms, believed to have contributed to ancient agricultural research. We will continue our way to the ancient Inca town Ollantaytambo to visit its fortress, a large archeological complex that was historically used as a place for resting. Lunch at a local restaurant wraps up this day’s events.

  • Breakfast and lunch included.

Following a hearty breakfast, we will depart on a fun horse-riding experience throughout the Sacred Valley, beginning at the Old Hacienda House and heading towards the town of Huayllabamba. One of our principal stops is the Urquillos village, where you can admire the Inca terraces used for the cultivation of corn along with colonial houses. Take time to tour the timeless architectural masterpiece and its surrounding attractions, Inti Punku (Sun Gate), Huayna Picchu (according to availability), or the Inca Bridge.
