San Miguel de Allende: A historic town founded in 1542, this gem of Mexico is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And don’t forget: It was the first town to declare independence from Spanish rule during the Mexican War of Independence.

Guanajuato: Capital of its namesake Mexican state (which is known as the birthplace of the country’s independence), Guanajuato is an old mining town that charms with its quaint cobblestone streets and colonial architecture. This town is also home to the vineyard we will visit.

And just when you thought you couldn’t be more charmed by a Mexican destination, we’ll head to the magical town of Guanajuato for a memorable tour led by a local guide.

Day by Day

Welcome to San Miguel de Allende! Travelers who spend their vacations in San Miguel de Allende can fly into Del Bajío International Airport in Guanajuato or Querétaro Intercontinental Airport in Querétaro. From whichever of the two airports, a private car will pick you up and bring you to the historic city.

Stretch your legs this morning on a walking tour of San Miguel de Allende. This engaging and active experience is a must for packages in San Miguel de Allende. It is a fun way to learn more about the history of this colonial city as you walk down significant streets such as El Chorro, Lavaderos, and Calle de Aldama. For example, you’ll see where the city was originally located and how it was situated to protect the so-called Road of Silver.

After walking back in time to witness the evolution of the city, the tour will end in a vibrant handicraft market.

Located roughly 1.5 hours outside of San Miguel de Allende, this unique destination is known for its silver mining history and colonial architecture.
