Your honeymoon in Peru has begun! A representative will pick you up from the airport at the scheduled time to transfer you to your hotel in Lima. A modern metropolis full of history, travelers can find comfort and cultural activities in the capital city— though you’ll want to get plenty of rest as your sightseeing adventure begins the following day.

After breakfast at your hotel, begin your trip to Peru in central Lima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site lined with historic colonial architecture and romantic main squares. A scenic tour will take you back in time, from the early 16th Century mansions and the characteristic Cathedral. In the neighboring district of Pueblo Libre, we’ll step inside a restored mansion that houses Larco Museum, renowned for its large collection of pre-Hispanic gold and silver objects as well as ancient erotic art.

After a short flight (90 minutes) to Cusco city, you will be promptly transferred to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. On the way, we will make a stop at the Living Museum of Yucay, where traditional Inca techniques of textile and ceramic artistry are put on display, and real-life sources of natural fibers, such as llamas and alpacas, can be seen. Then, participate in a traditional Inca ceremony with a shaman who will provide blessings for your honeymoon in Peru. You will have the rest of the afternoon at your leisure.

The day’s journey takes us off the beaten path. We start by visiting the salt mines of Maras that once allowed locals to trade their harvest for products from other regions of the Empire. Nearby is the archaeological site Moray, which is actually just an hour and a half from Cusco city, yet feels worlds away due to the concentric terraced platforms, believed to have contributed to ancient agricultural research. Enjoy a delicious local lunch in the cozy Iskay Maras Home, after which you will be transferred back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley.

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to the Ollantaytambo Station to catch your train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Full of handicrafts and restaurants, this small town is just a short ride from your much-anticipated visit to the Machu Picchu ruins. A masterpiece of architecture even by today’s terms, this famed peak is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. This part of your Peru tour will allow you to appreciate this majestic site and the views from the heights of the Machu Picchu ruins. Upon returning to Aguas Calientes, you will be able to indulge in a hearty lunch and have the rest of the afternoon to yourselves.

After a morning meal, we will catch our return train to the Ollantaytambo station, from which you will be transferred to your hotel in Cusco city.

Today your honeymoon in Peru continues with a leisurely horseback ride through Andean-style villages right outside of Cusco city, appreciating views of ancient Inca sites and a visit to the Temple of the Moon. In the afternoon, a Cusco walking tour will allow you to marvel at Coricancha (‘The Temple of the Sun’), the most important temple of the Inca Empire, as well as lead you to the city’s main square to admire historical artifacts at the Cathedral (which took nearly a century to construct). As we end the tour at the local San Pedro market, you will have a chance to relax before indulging in a delicious dinner at MAP Café.
